Spain's flagship gaming industry event EXPOJOC 2026 concluded with its prestigious awards ceremony at the striking Oval Hall of Valencia's Oceanographic complex, recognising excellence across nine categories that span the country's diverse gaming sector.
The judging panel brought together senior industry figures including Ángel Díaz (operations director, Grupo D.C), Pere Moliné (marketing analytics director, GiG – Gaming Innovation Group), Juan Lacarra (technical general secretary, ANESAR), Cristina García (spokesperson and coordinator, Plataforma para el Juego Sostenible), Ramón Penadés (president, FAMACASMAN), and Rosa Riera (director, Acordjoc).
The ceremony recognised achievements across nine distinct categories designed to capture the breadth of Spain's gaming ecosystem. Zitro claimed the Innovation award for exemplifying modernisation and progress, with the prize presented by Ruth Andérez (director of Institutional Relations, Junta de Castilla y León) and received by Albert Zorrilla, Zitro's general director in Spain.
Orenes Grupo secured the Company award, recognising organisational and commercial excellence. Ramón Cubián, general director of Land and Gaming Management delegate for the Community of Madrid, presented the award to Pedro García, Orenes' director of Institutional Relations.
José González Fuentes from Luckia received the Professional Trajectory award from Kissy Chandiramani, councillor of Finance, Economic Transformation and Digital Affairs for Ceuta, acknowledging his career achievements and sector experience.
The Association category went to Club de Convergentes, with the award presented by David Calvete, head of Gaming and Betting Control service for the National Police, and received by Cristina García, the organisation's spokesperson and general secretary.

Novomatic Spain took the Manufacturer award for developing high-impact industry games, with Bernhard Teuchmann, managing director, accepting from presenter José Vall. The Product category, recognising excellence in aesthetics, mathematics, and performance, went to Azulre, with Salvador Doménech, director of Electronic Bingo networks, receiving the award from bingo entrepreneur Óscar Grau.
Fundación Sportium claimed the Social Action award for its corporate responsibility initiatives, presented by Gracia Martín-Duarte, deputy general director of Gaming Management for the Community of Madrid, to David Malmierca, Sportium's Valencia delegate.
The Online Games Provider category recognised MGA Games, with José Antonio Giacomelli, general manager, accepting from Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes, vice president for GLI's Africa, Latin America, Caribbean and Spain operations.
A Special Prize from Sector del Juego magazine was awarded to Manuela Jiménez and Carlos Chacón, with Vicente Fernández, commercial director of Zitro, which demonstrated Ancient Link slot, presenting to Jiménez and J. Ignacio Ferrer, EXPOJOC founder, and to Yolanda Barqueros, director of Institutional Relations at Merkur Dosnía, representing Chacón.
