Luckia Opens New A Coruña HQ as Growth Platform

Spanish gaming operator Luckia has officially inaugurated its new corporate headquarters in A Coruña, launching what the company describes as a transformative phase centered on innovation, international growth and sustainability initiatives.

The institutional ceremony brought together key regional figures including Alfonso Rueda, president of the Xunta of Galicia; Inés Rey, mayor of A Coruña; Antonio Fontenla, president of the Confederation of Businesspeople of La Coruña; and José González, Luckia's president. Former LALIGA legend Iván Helguera also attended the event alongside various institutional, business and company representatives.

Strategic Vision and Economic Impact

During his address, González emphasized the significance of the new facility beyond its physical presence.

Today we formally inaugurate our new offices, but above all we inaugurate a new stage in Luckia. A stage that is born in A Coruña, that is built from Galicia, but that looks with ambition to the world.

José González, Luckia President

The company reinforced its substantial economic contribution to the regions where it operates. Annually, the Luckia group contributes approximately €50 million in taxes and social contributions, with €15 million generated specifically in Galicia. The operator has surpassed 60,000 hours of training delivered, reflecting its commitment to workforce development and responsible growth models based on responsible gaming and continuous investment in personnel.

Luckia's Regional Presence

Luckia operates across multiple Spanish regions beyond Galicia, with its business model heavily focused on regulatory compliance and responsible gaming practices. The company's tax contribution strategy aligns with Spain's autonomous community taxation system, where regional governments receive significant gaming revenue shares.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiatives

Luckia announced three major strategic initiatives to drive its new phase of development. The company will launch three training programmes in partnership with ISDI, establish a project launcher to promote technology startups in Galicia with the first pilot beginning in the second semester of this year, and introduce monthly open conferences through Fundación Luckia. The inaugural conference will feature renowned hacker Chema Alonso.

The new headquarters is designed to serve as a social meeting point for innovation, business collaboration and knowledge sharing. The facility will host both the Fundación Luckia headquarters and joint initiatives with universities, institutions and Galician business associations.

González concluded his remarks by reflecting on the company's evolution:

The path that has brought us here is the reflection of a constant transformation: from a small jukebox to the globalization of the digital world.

José González, Luckia President

Tech Hub Development

ISDI is one of Spain's leading digital business schools, specializing in marketing, technology and data analytics. Partnerships between gaming operators and educational institutions are becoming increasingly common in Europe as companies seek to develop specialized talent in areas like data science, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

Sustainable Architecture Achievement

The new corporate headquarters represents a significant milestone in sustainable construction. The building has capacity for nearly 1,000 people and became the first property in Galicia to obtain the LEED Platinum certification, one of the highest international recognitions for sustainable construction.

Key sustainability features include Galicia's most important geothermal installation, aerothermal systems and photovoltaic panels. These elements underscore the company's commitment to eco-efficiency and environmental responsibility. This approach reflects broader industry trends, as evidenced by CIRSA joining OBBIO as a Silver Associate to boost workplace wellbeing initiatives.

Strategic Market Positioning

With this inauguration, Luckia consolidates its commitment to Galicia as the nerve center of its growth strategy while reaffirming ambitions for continued international expansion from A Coruña. The facility positions the operator to leverage regional talent and resources for global market penetration.

The headquarters opening signals Luckia's broader transformation from traditional gaming operations to a technology-focused, internationally-minded operator. The combination of substantial training investments, startup acceleration programs and sustainable infrastructure suggests the company is positioning itself for long-term competitiveness in increasingly regulated European markets.
