Hacksaw Gaming Lands Connecticut Online Gaming Licence

Hacksaw Gaming has secured an Online Gaming Service Provider licence from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, marking another regulatory milestone in the studio's North American expansion strategy.

The licence, granted on Thursday, 12 March 2026, authorises Hacksaw Gaming to distribute its gaming content portfolio through licensed operators across Connecticut's regulated market.

US Market Momentum

The Connecticut approval represents continued progress for Hacksaw Gaming's state-by-state licensing approach across the United States. The provider has been building its regulatory footprint to support partnerships with local operators.

"Securing our Connecticut licence is a fantastic achievement and another proud moment for the Hacksaw team. The U.S. continues to be a market with large opportunities, and each new state strengthens our ability to bring innovative, high-quality content to more players and partners. We look forward to building strong operator relationships as we expand our presence across North America."

— Marcus Cordes, Operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming

Connecticut Gaming Market

Connecticut operates one of the smaller regulated online gaming markets in the US, with only two tribal casino operators currently licensed: Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. The state launched online casino gaming in October 2021, making it the fifth state to regulate iGaming after Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

Strategic Implications

Connecticut's compact online gaming market provides Hacksaw Gaming with another regulated foothold as competition intensifies among content providers seeking US exposure. Each state licence enhances the studio's positioning for potential partnerships with multi-state operators expanding their content libraries.

The approval signals Connecticut regulators' continued openness to international gaming suppliers meeting compliance standards, potentially encouraging other European studios to pursue similar licensing strategies.

Multi-State Strategy

Gaming suppliers typically pursue multiple state licenses simultaneously to maximize their appeal to operators with multi-jurisdictional presences. DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM all operate in Connecticut and often prefer content partners with broad regulatory coverage to streamline their procurement processes.

According to Hacksaw Gaming.
