MGA Warns Against Fraudulent Dragonia Casino Operations

The Malta Gaming Authority has issued a formal disclaimer disavowing any connection to two unauthorised gambling websites operating under the Dragonia brand.

False Licensing Claims Exposed

The MGA specifically declared it has no association with https://dragonia-de.de/ and https://dragonia-casino.at/. Both websites falsely reference MGA gaming licences and claim authorisation from the Maltese regulator.

Warning

Unlicensed operators typically lack proper segregation of player funds, deposit protection schemes, and dispute resolution mechanisms. Players may lose deposits and winnings with no legal recourse if these operators cease operations or refuse withdrawals.

According to the authority, any references to MGA licensing displayed on these websites constitute false and misleading information designed to deceive consumers.

MGA License Verification

The MGA maintains a public registry of all licensed operators at mga.org.mt. Licensed operators display their specific license number (e.g., MGA/B2C/XXX/XXXX format) and must include regulatory information in their website footer as per MGA requirements.

Consumer Protection Warning

The regulator emphasised the importance of verification before engaging with gaming operators, advising consumers:

"Not to utilise services provided by an entity unless they have ascertained that the entity in question is authorised to provide such services by the MGA."

— Maltese Authority, as

The gaming regulatory framework obliges authorised persons to comply with strict legal requirements in the interest of consumers, while activities of unlicensed entities remain unregulated and fail to provide necessary consumer safeguards.

This warning follows similar alerts the MGA has issued against other unauthorised gambling websites claiming false licensing credentials.

According to Malta Gaming Authority.
