Novomatic has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first company in the global gaming industry to obtain ISO 20671 "Brand Evaluation – Principles and Fundamentals" certification, earning the coveted "Certified Brand" recognition.
The ISO 20671 certification employs a structured and transparent evaluation model that analyses brand strength and long-term development potential. For Novomatic, the assessment process examined various aspects of the company's corporate and brand management operations in Austria, including innovation capacity, quality standards, service orientation, market performance, and impact on clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Comprehensive Brand Assessment
The evaluation encompassed critical elements such as brand protection, market analysis and trend identification, alongside governance processes and transparency measures implemented by the company. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the rigorous standards required to achieve the international certification.

ISO 20671 Certification Requirements
The ISO 20671 standard requires evaluation across six core areas: innovation capacity, quality standards, service orientation, market performance, stakeholder impact, and governance transparency. Companies must undergo assessment of their brand protection measures, market analysis capabilities, and trend identification processes to qualify for certification.
Industry Recognition
The official certificate presentation took place during the International Novomatic Marketing & Communications Summit in Bingen, Germany, organised by Löwen Entertainment, a Novomatic subsidiary. The summit attracted marketing and communications specialists from more than 30 countries, providing an appropriate venue to recognise Novomatic's brand strategy excellence.
Setting New Industry Standards
This certification establishes Novomatic as a benchmark for systematic brand management within the gaming sector. The ISO 20671 standard provides operators with a framework for evaluating brand strength beyond traditional metrics, incorporating governance, transparency, and stakeholder impact assessments. For an industry increasingly focused on regulatory compliance and corporate responsibility, this certification model could influence how gaming companies approach brand development and evaluation in regulated markets.
